Flexible working – How to overcome resistance and make it happen

February 11, 2008 By Gary Marston Leave a Comment

Jon Watkinson, Senior Manager, The Project Network Ltd

Flexible working represents a culture change in local government which some senior managers struggle with and some middle managers resist. Nevertheless, it’s the way ahead for the 21st century. Jon will examine the win win win aspects of flexible working relating to customers, cost savings and staff satisfaction. Nice theory, but he will then discuss some practical and proven strategies for making it happen. Technology is the easy bit, getting people to do it is the challenge.

Jon will examine the soft aspects and thinking that present hurdles to flexible working and how to overcome them to deliver better services at less cost.
