21st Century Office – Rotherham MBC 5th March 2013
Austerity and the continued downward pressure on public sector budgets is driving many organisations to look to their estate and office rationalisation programmes are delivering significant savings when aligned with new ways of working.
Riverside House in Rotherham was designed to support the Council’s WorkSmart programme, enabling employees to work flexibly to increase their effectiveness and work life balance. The building contains only 1,308 desks for 2,400 employees, dropping beneath the ‘challenging’ 6 to 10 benchmark and it has proved to work well with staff, despite some initial concerns.
On 5th March we will be gathering in the new football stadium immediately adjacent to Riverside House to hear from Rotherham’s WorkSmart and HR Managers about the programme, the challenges and success factors and the areas for improvement. We’ll be taking a tour of the new building, talking to exhibitors of related solutions and products and hearing from frontline staff about working in this new environment.
Appealing to Transformation, Human Resource, Facilities, Policy and ICT professionals alike, this event showcases the successful implementation of ambitious accommodation and work smart strategies and offers a unique opportunity to hear from and talk to those directly involved.
We’re delighted to be working with Rotherham to showcase and share learning around this project and to facilitate networking and collaboration amongst local government and other public sector officers involved in similar projects across the UK.
